Dr. Duling, Ph.D. has spent most of his career in academic research, publication, and teaching. He has presented dozens of papers in regional, national, and international Biblical conferences. His early work on Son of David Christology and led him to ancient Solomonic magical traditions, then the study of the New Testament as informed by the social sciences (millennialism, magic, small groups, ethnicity, osmology (aromas), social memory, ancient collectivism, social networking, and the Gospel of Matthew). He has also published on the history of Jesus research and co-authored a book with his spouse, Dr. Gretchen Duling, Ph.D., on the underground railroad. He is currently writing a book about Social Networking and the New Testament.
